Hi Philip, yes, the delivery report notification feature will send a notification to your iPhone, but it requires EirText for Mac to be running and logged in.
Here's a bit more info on both features:
The delivery status for webtexts can be seen within the EirText Pro iPhone app. If the message speech bubble is yellow, that means the message has not yet been delivered. Blue means delivered.
The delivery report notifications feature requires EirText for Mac. You can leave the Mac app running while you're out and about. When you send a message using EirText Pro on your iPhone, the Mac app will check its delivery status and send you a notification when it has been delivered.
I hope that helps,
Vinny.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Hi Vinny,
I understood from the above that the delivery report notifications feature is implemented in the EirText Pro iPhone app. Now if I see any message is still yellow it has never been delivered and I do not have EirText for Mac to be running. Right?
Thanks -
Inappropriate? There are two features in EirText Pro, related to delivery status:
- Delivery status: coloured speech bubbles. Does not require EirText for Mac. Yellow means not delivered.
- Delivery notifications: requires EirText for Mac. Sends a notification to your device when the message has been delivered.
Both features work independent of each other.

Inappropriate?Hi Vinny,
I'm just wondering, if I send a text via WebText, the EirText Pro shows delivery status, that meant my message has delivered to the O2 server but not to the end receiver. I don't think WebText has facility to track down the final receiver's delivery status and send it back to EirText Pro. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks -
Inappropriate?yourshadow66: Actually, the O2 site provides a pretty comprehensive set of states for each webtext sent (although I've only ever seen a few of them used).
Each status is for the route from the O2 server to the recipient's phone.
There is no status from EirText to the O2 server because if EirText can't send a message, it simply fails and displays an error.
Hope that answers your question.
Vinny.
I’m happy
