Custom URL Shortener Domains

So we already have custom domain support, how about custom URL shorteners? I've noticed a lot of blogs having their own custom url shorteners lately, and with the whole tr.im mess, a lot of people are interested in setting up their own personal shortening services on URLs that they own themselves. This could also ideally be set up with the Twitter integration for automatic tweeting of posts with a custom shortener URL.

This could also potentially make Tumblr the ultimate replacement for twitpic/yfrog because one could set up a separate Tumblr account with a custom URL shortener (and the actual Tumblr account being hosted on a subdomain of that URL, i.e. posts.user.us) that automatically tweets when pictures are uploaded or videos are added to the user's YouTube account. The user could use a simple theme and DISQUS comments to allow people to comment as a Twitter reply (and Facebook, if their twitter posts sync to there). Yfrog is so incredibly junky looking and I'd love to be able to roll my own place for twitter photos/videos on a custom domain.

A custom URL shortener would also just be nice to have for my normal tumblelog, which I have no interest in automatically syncing to Twitter.
