Ripping woes
Cablecast DVD Import app only rips 5 minutes of some DVDs. Any fixes? This occurs no matter what computer workstation we use to rip the DVDs.

Inappropriate?Hey Edaylew,
Does DVD Import give any errors with the DVDs, also is it only DVDs from a particular source that have the 5min limitation? If so where are they coming from?

Hi Ray, thanks for your reply. Is there a way to email u directly? In any case to answer your questions: Cablecast DVD import give no error message when it just does the 5 minutes. It is from the same source, a DVD recorder in a municipal court house. However, in the past it was working fine. I tried ripping the same DVD using Mpeg2StreamClipper and ImTooDVD ripper. The first works in that it give me a full length clip, but no sound. The second I have to try again as I only have a demo version that limits me to 5 minutes anyway. -
My email is ray.tiley@trms.com Have you tried MPEGStreamclip by squared5? http://www.squared5.com/ To use it Use File -> Open DVD and then File -> Export to MPEG with MP2 Audio. -
Inappropriate?I have had this same issue. I get different shows from 1 person that claims the are all burned the exact same way. Some import fine while others only import 5 minutes. Today I had it happen on a DVD I have had no problem with for a year. My guess is the DVDs have chapters on them.
