Month view should be last 30 days, not the calendar month
I suggest that the "month" view be the last 30 days, rather than the current month. Right now, on Dec 1, it's not that useful.

Just wanted to mention that the the month and year versions of the rolling 7 day view will be added soon. We are working on a Weightbot update that adds these new graph options (single month/year graphs will still be accessible) among a few other updates. Look for a blog post on our website with more details in the coming weeks and thanks again for your patience!

Inappropriate? We can't change our month view because it was designed to show each month, not show 30 days only. There is another possible solution to this, but we are still looking into it. Thanks.

I was going to post the same question, each of the graphs should be the last week/month/year (the newest data should be all the way to the right hand side of the graph and not the left side. -
Inappropriate?Check out "The Thumb" for a nice history graph interface. It looks nice, is easy to use, and very functional.
-
And there won't be for a while longer. As I said earlier, there is a possible solution, but it's going to take time and we have other more important things to finish at the moment. Being able to look back a variable length of time from today is not forgotten, just on the back burner for now. -
I'm pretty disappointed that you concider this a low priority.
Not being able to see the last 30/60/90 days progress is a major flaw in an otherwise beautifully designed product.
Being able to see my progress graph IS THE WHOLE POINT of such a program. I really can't think of any functionality that is more important than a simple, readable progress graph in a weight tracking program. -
I agree with liuping. Why is this a low priority? This is much higher than making stone and some other things. -
I agree. While I love the products, your the use of calendar ranges was boneheaded and makes the graphing much less useful. Strongly urge you re-prioritize. -
Totally agree. This design is simply bad design. Weight is a continuous thing, not suitable to a graph that ends at month-end. Your priorities are seriously flawed. -
as I said. They don't care what you think. Tell all your friend don't buy their new product "Convertbot". They don't care about what they sold. -
Inappropriate? Now that it's early January, the shortcomings of the current display are even more obvious. I agree with the others, it's much more important to see the last "N" days than have the plots broken up into months. I don't see a critical need for a "variable" length of time, just give us some sensible fixed alternatives. I would suggest fixed choices of the past 30, 90, or 365 days would work fine.
While fixed alternatives would provide the minimum required functionality, the elegant solution would be a variable time axis, where you use the multi-touch interface to control the scale. A two-finger pinch would expand/contract the time range shown, and a one-finger drag would slide the time window forward/backward in time. That would be a user interface that matches the elegance of the current interface for entering weight.
I’m disappointed

I've just posted a review - I want the 12 month graph, at least, to be a rolling period, not fixed to 1 January. Disappointing. -
Inappropriate?2 months after. still Nothing, zip, None. Oh. How long will it take for Tapbots to fix the problem?
-
Inappropriate?I agree that this is a major functionality issue...I am dreading march 1 when I won't be able to see how far I've come in the last few weeks.
-
Inappropriate?I couldn't agree more. The graphs are THE critical feature. Also, the yearly graphs shows monthly averages -- it should show the real data to avoid being misleading.
-
Inappropriate?Every time a month starts I'm reminded about how frustrated I am. At least at this point we're far enough into the year that the year very is semi useful. ;(
I will never buy another product from Tapbots again. Too bad really. It's such a "pretty" app. I almost want to overlook it massive design flaw and utter lack of response to user requests. Almost...

Inappropriate?3 months after. They still don't care and didn't do anything to fix this. What a shame.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hello all, the simplest workaround to this design flow is to switch to a better product. In my opinion, the design of first version of Weightbot was really perfect, but some features were missing. These features were added but in such a way that they are ugly and not usable. So, i decided to switch from weightbot to another product. Now, i have all the features i have requested, and a perfect design.

Inappropriate? This is the biggest shortcoming of this product. And its fixable. Hope they fix it!
I’m undecided
-
I gave up and deleted. Try Track Weight...it is cheaper and does everything this product doesn't. -
Inappropriate? They don't care about what you need for the weightbot since they are making their 2nd app to make more money. Ya. They suck.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? We are working on this, guys. Don't worry.
Danny: I've been pretty patient with you, but you have been negative since you showed up around here. All of your rude remarks do nothing but make you look childish. I'm all for public constructive criticism and complaints (otherwise our support wouldn't be on this site), but there is no reason for you to respond negatively after every comment. We are well aware that this needs to be fixed. You don't see the big picture when it comes to our customers and apps and you have no right to assume why things do or don't happen with our products either. Unless your goal is to win the "Worst Customer of the Year" award, I'd really appreciate it if you stopped being so negative around here. If you really feel like we are cheating you, give me your paypal address and I'll personally send you your $2 dollars back. Thanks. -
Inappropriate?oh so you got mad after we have waiting you to fix that useless feature? We have been very patient with you for four months. It's not like you have been pretty patient with you. What a good attitude as an official rep.

Inappropriate?To Mark,
You are underestimating one part of human nature. If we did not really like most of this product, we would just dump it and go somewhere else...in silence. The strong emotions are because this product has such potential and I am betting people really like most of it. So you need to view all these comments as serious hope that you will fix the few things that are wrong.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hi Guys,
Give it a break, the product is Brilliant - I am not understanding why 30 days is so important just ignore the 31st day or go to Gizmodo's site and download a "how to build a app" program and build something better.
Can't wait for the flack I am going to get but if you can honestly do better I look forward to seeing your product at the IPhone store.
Well done guys keep it going your product is great

The product is great -- no arguments -- but you're completely missing the point. Mapping results on a calendar month is basically useless for up to half the month, and you lose your ability to track month-to-month. Same with the year view. Its a serious flaw and I rarely use the graphing features as a result. -
Inappropriate?Try "Track Your Weight." $1.99 and does all the things this app doesn't do graphing-wise and total weight lost, avg daily change etc. and the user interface is just as cool.
-
Inappropriate? After 10 month. This is still not fixed. sadly
-
Inappropriate?Hi Mark... thanks so much for a great app. I love it and use it daily.
Also appreciate your being responsive in the past.
Any chance you can update us on whether or not there will be more flexible graphing range selection in the future? The last update was a huge improvement, but I'll echo some of the other requests here that either rolling ranges or a pinch-and-squeeze feature (like the one in the newest update to Apple's stocks app) would be a big improvement.
Regardless, thanks for the app. Even without this, it's a great app for the money.
