Private messaging should be allowed only between mutual followers
I received a private message from someone I know of nowhere, who actually (even worse) was thanking *me* for contacting *him*, which I never did. He was sorry that he hadn't been able to "open my link" leading to an error 404 (known issue, which I have also been heavily reporting here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/seesmic/to...
My guess (just a guess) is that another user must have sent him a private video and put *my* name in the title or something referring to me, and that user thinks *I* have sent him a video, and therefore sends me a private video, which, frankly speaking makes absolutely no sense to me (and it is a very long one, believe me).
So the result is that two people who don't know each other are contacted in a private setting, not being able to clarify what has happened, just because a third party has been able to send them private videos, even though they had not previously agreed (by following each other) to be in contact through the private channel.
I find it pretty disturbing, and wanted to raise this issue in writing (it had already been heavily discussed on seesmic by many early users). It feels like someone rang at my door, and has spent a very long time sitting on my couch (he is a nice guy don't take me wrong, nothing inappropriate, but he just was not invited, and now, what do I do?).

Inappropriate?Hello Otir, thank you for reporting this. We are on the broken link bug and your suggestion about privacy as an option really makes sense!

Inappropriate?A month ago (or what seems to be much longer), I reported about this concern and Loïc mentioned the suggestion about privacy options was relevant.
I come back today to push you about it. I received another private video today that is not my choice to receive, not that it is not appropriate (it is appropriate) but I don't want to be approached this way and I want to have a choice to NOT receive private videos directly, if someone has never been engaging a conversation with me previously.

Inappropriate?Hi Otir,
This still is certainly still a very valuable concern, and I think it would be a great option. I have recreated this as an idea, since the solution to this problem would actually require a new feature. This will help us track it more efficiently. I would recommend that you add your own comments to the new topic and point anyone else you know who has the similar idea to voice their opinions there.
We have not forgotten your request, we just have to prioritize new features.
I’m thankful you are willing to keep sharing your feedback
