Hi there,

As a rule I don't add features to point releases, because then you can't sell upgrades, and that's how software companies make money. So, in point releases I generally just fix bugs or handle new OSes (like Snow Leopard) or new hardware (like the 27" iMac) that's come out.

A comment on the problem "Scanning with iSight, failure" in Delicious Monster:

All built-in iSights have a fixed focal length, which required me to write a whole new barcode reading algorithm a couple years ago. The one in the new iMacs, however, is _particularly_ blurry close-up -- strikingly so.

I'm assuming they saved a few bucks on the lens, or else they decided to bias for a wider aperture and/or deeper depth of field farther out. – William Shipley, on January 04, 2010 12:09
