Soup.io e-mail interface and WWW not working?
I submitted an e-mail post at 16h00 today. As at 17h00, it still had not appeared on my soup. I resubmitted it at 16h45 and there’s no sign of the resubmitted post either.

In addition, when attempting to browse to http://www.soup.io/, I am simply redirected to http://www.soup.io/everyone, which is not where I want to be.

I’m also getting the following error message intermittently, when attempting to access any page on soup.io:

We're sorry, but something went wrong.
Our trusty debug robot just sent e-mail telling us about this problem. If you can give us further details about what happened, please write to us on our feedback page!

What’s up? Is anyone still looking after this product, or has it joined the deadpool?

Topics raised by user for company/product
On each user's dashboard, there's a section for "products & companies you use". Could this facility be enhanced to show all items the user has created or flagged, but only for the specific product or company?

This would allow the user to follow up on the status of all items he/she has a stake in with that company/product.

Soup.io should consider acquiring storytlr (http://storytlr.com/)
storytlr ceased operating on 31 December 2009. Soup.io should consider acquiring the entire operation. It should then incorporate the best of storytlr's technology into Soup.io and migrate all existing storytlr users to the merged product.

storytlr was by far the best digital stream/lifestreaming products available. Soup.io's platform could be enhanced by incorporating the best of their technology, and provide a comfortable home for the users of storytlr.

    Why soup.io?
    Please see my latest post:
    Why soup.io? - Maskil's soup
    http://maskil.soup.io/post/42406098/W...

I already have relatively established Posterous and Tumbler tumblelogs, so why add soup.io into the mix? As a product, it's not quite as polished as Posterous and Tumbler. What I'm liking about it, though, is that I can use it as a combination digital stream/lifestream and tumblelog.
So, I'll shortly be importing all my other digital assets or content from my blogging, bookmarking, commenting and micro-blogging activities. In addition, I'll be posting new, unique, quick 'n dirty or drive-by blog posts, along the lines of what I've been posting on Posterous and Tumbler, except with a more relaxed style.
This may in time affect how I use both these products, as well as FriendFeed, etc. I've already pretty much decided to phase out lifestream.fm/Maskil, which was intended as a replacement for the now defunct maskil.storytlr.com.

    Issues when posting via e-mail
I've encountered the following issues when posting to soup via e-mail (the first issue may well be an "undocumented feature":
1 Paragraph breaks are stripped out of the text. This appears to occur irrespective of whether a Plain Text or HTML message is used.
2 On one occasion so far, the text appeared twice within the same post. (Unfortunately I've already edited to remove the duplication and restore the paragraph breaks):
    Why soup.io? - Maskil's soup

    Update:
Further to my original comment, it appears that the duplicated content within a single post occurs when posting by means of an HTML e-mail message. I will test later to confirm whether it occurs with Plain Text messages or not, but I don't believe so. Please see the following recent posts as examples:

@mendozaie, @nouhailler, my pleasure, hope you can benefit from it. For others, I neglected to mention that Scribefire is only available as a Firefox add-on. – Maskil, on January 20, 2010 07:47

Using tags when posting via e-mail
Would it be possible to enhance Soup to allow tags to be entered when posting using e-mail? My thought was that a delimiter could be entered at the end of the e-mail, with everything after the delimiter being treated as a tag. Commas could be used to separate tags, while multiple words tags could be enclosed using quotation marks "".
Many thanks for considering this suggestion.
I'm otherwise very impressed with this product so far!
