Jessie replied on February 04, 2010 23:58 to the question "Unable to pair my Flic Scanner. OS X 10.6.2, DL 2.3.3" in Delicious Monster:
First, replace the batteries. The scanner tends to act weird when the batteries get low, rather than failing outright. Then, reset the scanner.
1. Find the manual that came with your scanner, and scan the barcode under the label 'Return to Factory Defaults'. If you no longer have that manual, you can download the PDF version here: http://www.microvision.com/pdfs/ROV_S...
2. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu at the top-left corner of your screen, then choose the Bluetooth icon under the Hardware section. Click on the Devices tab, and if there is a device named CORDLESS, click on this name and press Delete. If there is no device named CORDLESS, you can skip this step.
3. Open Delicious Library 2, and then choose 'Wireless Barcode Scanner' from the Library menu. Then just scan something. It should work on its own. A window may appear asking you to pair with your scanner. Follow the instructions listed in the window. Your scanner is now ready to use with Delicious Library 2.
This fixes the scanner 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, let me know.

Jessie replied on February 02, 2010 03:13 to the question "Why does it rarely know the EAN?" in Delicious Monster:
The iSight is only able to scan barcodes not numbers; the printed numbers won't make a difference. If the barcode printed on the book is a UPC, it'll look up the UPC number, not the ISBN. This, of course, is okay for items that are not books (like electronics, games, etc), but books are all cataloged on Amazon by ISBN.
You're able to enter things in by hand, but you can search for things by title, which is easier than typing in a bunch of numbers :-)
