The source control status display refreshes on a timer, so you will not be notified of updated status immediately after another user commits. If you wait for a few minutes or click File > Source Control > Refresh Entire Site, the update status should show up in the file list and in the Source Control window. If that is not working for you please write into coda@panic.com and we'll get it sorted out.
