The error 28 is a networking response error - and I will change that status message to be more readable. It shouldn't require a restart to recover from this error. The error should read "Error 28: Operation timeout. The specified time-out period was reached" – Joe, on February 15, 2010 15:45

I have a new beta release of the Windows RescueTime that I believe will resolve this crash issue. If you are experiencing Offline Time related crashes, please try this beta version and let me know if does or does not fix your crashes.

Thanks!
Joe replied on February 12, 2010 19:25 to the problem "crash from the start" in RescueTime:
I think I found the reason for this particular crash. It had to do with the integration with Growl support. The latest RescueTime beta installer has code in to check for Growl startup issues and should prevent this particular crash. If you are still having this problem you can download the latest Beta version of RescueTime at: https://www.rescuetime.com/installers...
Thanks!

Joe replied on February 08, 2010 16:28 to the question "Firefox 3 (on Mac) still not supported ?" in RescueTime:
RescueTime does not currently work with Firefox 3.6. Mozilla felt the need to remove the URL methods that we (and others) were using to get access to the active URL.
There is a bug filed with Mozilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug...
If you are inclined, we would love a priority upvote on that bug to bump this up on Mozilla's list.
In the meantime, we are looking for alternative methods for getting Firefox URLs and I'll let people know when we have something to test.
Thank you

Joe replied on February 02, 2010 16:30 to the question "Will the time for white-listed website add to Browser app time?" in RescueTime:
Whitelisted websites are listed individually and do not add to the Browser total. The Browser, in your case Safari, should only list non-whitelisted browsing time and time where RescueTime was unable to identify a URL.
For example, I have whitelisted mail.google.com but not facebook.com. I spend 30 minutes in each, which will result in two separate activities: 30 minutes of Safari Browser and 30 minutes of mail.google.com.
Thank you
A comment on the problem "Has the Linux API been turned off entirely?" in RescueTime:
I don't believe there have been any specific changes recently that would prevent it from working. The only issue we know about right now is not being able to "authenticate" a new account through the Linux client.
I'll try to dig into it more on our side to see if we are still seeing other Linux incoming data and if not what could have changed. – Joe, on February 02, 2010 16:26

We have had reports of this happening with a few other users. We are looking into the issue and are trying to find a resolution ASAP. In the meantime, I suggest disabling the Offline Time option in your RescueTime.com settings here: https://www.rescuetime.com/accounts/m...

An update on this issue. RescueTime running on PowerPC Processors has a CPU issue if you are using our latest builds. If you haven't upgraded to Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6), you can download an older version of RescueTime here:
http://www.rescuetime.com/installers/...
We don't currently have a more recent build of RescueTime that works with PowerPC, but it is something we are working on.
