Eduardo,

looking at your logs, it is probably not the contacts causing this but the connection. Your best bet would be to sync when you have a good wifi connection.

We found that Google sync was still active and thus causing a loop. Myatt has disabled that and no more dupes were introduced on sync.

Hey Matt, there is something odd about your sync. The duplicates seem to be created from your OSX. I did just run the deduper. All empty contacts are gone. Can you just add a test contact to your OSX for me?

Are you absolutely 100% sure that your Address Book on OSX is not connected to anything else? Looking for Exchange, Entourage, MobileMe or the likes. We have only seen this type of behavior when user have some kind of a looping situation.

Any initial sync will combine the contacts from Soocial with the device contacts. You would have to empty your Iphone first. – Bart, on March 17, 2010 09:30

If contacts get send or update in Soocial the get pushed to Gmail right away. UNLESS they are part of a group, then the changes will only be send to Gmail on a full sync.

If you want to see if all changes made it to Gmail after this full sync make sure you refresh the Gmail Contacts page (CRTL+R or F5)

Hey Jeff,

multiplication of contact usually indicates that there is some kind of loop going on. Do you have your Gmail/Google apps. account connected to another syncing solution? Or maybe even to another Soocial account?

For a temporary solution a deduper can be run, but if I am right and you have a loop in your setup than this might even destroy the original contact.

Are you able to find this loop?

This does not seem related to the other problem, I took a look at the male Baer, the contact was updated on march 5th with no group info.

You should be able to fix this by on OSX renaming the old group, making a new group with the original name and move all 20 there.

Things should stay fine from there on. But please let us know if they don't.

I think I know what happened, we found a bug yesterday. Because of that bug, your sync wasn't finishing. We fixed the bug and things should be back to normal. Please keep an eye on it, as soon as you see any dupes please let us know.

It was a line ending issue. We were sending CRLF but should be sending LF This was introduced by solving another issues for Symbian phones.

we killed a bug today. It has been there over the last few days causing you this trouble. If you do the same reset that you are describing, things should work fine now.
