Yes. Any time you link an audio file on a TypePad, the feed will include a link to the audio enclosure file to turn that feed into a podcast. TypePad will also give you the option of adding an audio player under the post when it is viewed on the blog.

To test: Add an audio file to a TypePad blog. Then subscribe to the feed in a podcast receiver or test in iTunes.

Currently there's no alert sent via email - though a message does appear on the screen.

Before they submit the comment it says:

Comments are moderated, and will not appear until the author has approved them.

And then after the comment has been submitted:

Your comment has been saved. Comments are moderated and will not appear until approved by the author.

If you want to make that language a bit bigger you can add this staetment to your Custom CSS:

.comments-open-moderated, .comment-complete { font-weight: bold; color: red; }

That will call it out in bold and red.
