I've seen this, and can replicate the problem, too. It appears to only affect programs over 30 minutes.

For example, I've tried to watch 3 episodes of Around the World in 80 Days, and at around the 35m - 39m mark each ep exhibits the behaviour Guy has described; first I get the dark overlay with the message about connection speeds, and after a short pause I get the "Program not playing message".

Programs with a duration <30m have all (so far) been fine.
