Are the minimum system requirements likely to change when Pivot is released to the public?
I could see how Pivot could be used at the company I work for, the main issue would be the high system requirements. We would want to be able to build our Collection using our internal data and then have our clients come in and start to play with the collection on their own machines, which are likely to be older windows machines (XP). Basically I need to know if the system requirements of Pivot will be lower when Pivot is eventually released?

We can't really say at this time. This is strictly an experiment for now, and we can't make any claims about XP support in the future. It is best to take our experiment in that light. We're glad you are so excited about it that you would like to share it more widely though.
I’m excited.

Inappropriate? This is really the deal breaker for me. Without lowering the bar for adoption the digital divide proves to large for this technology. A plugin like Silverlight would be understandable but try telling people they have the wrong OS!? That wouldn't go over well with anyone.
I’m frustrated

GladRobot, do you think that could be why Pivot is still a private beta? =) -
@Nathanael Lawrence - could you disclose your relationship with microsoft. I see that you comment on lots of their products across the web but can not find an open profile.
Thanks! -
GladRobot, I don't mind in the least.
I am in no way affiliated with Microsoft. I use their software quite a lot and I'm a fan, but that's the extent of it.
I had the honour, among several others, of interviewing at Smith Tower for Photosynth's community leader, but that position went to Darius Monsef who has since parted ways with them.
I'm just a fan of Live Labs' work. I hope that I wasn't too abrasive. Please accept my apology if I was.
