Google Analytics in the account
It would be nice to have the option of including google analytics into an account to get more information about how the service is being used... is there any possibility to do this?

Inappropriate? Many other services offer a way to plug in a GA tracking code to track web activity, something like this would be great for GS, too!
-
Inappropriate?Totally. I love this idea.

Inappropriate?I agree this would be very useful. The stats overview within the Admin UI is nice but being able to view more detailed analytics available via GA (like page views to specific topics over time, etc) would be very useful.

Inappropriate? We would really like to see this feature added.

Inappropriate? We currently do use Google Analytics for our GS account. You will need to have paid for the ability to customize the footer as shown in this Developers - Customization tutorial. After you have access to Admin > Customization (in your Community Tools), just create a Google Analytics account and add the javascript into the footer for your GS site.
A couple of my favorite uses for Google Analytics with GS are tracking how many people are finding results when they search, and how many people are showing up from widget referrals.

Inappropriate?@Arielle when you say "paid for the ability to customize footer", you mean their $899/month plan, right? We are currently at their $100/month plan, and do not have this options. Seems to steep of a price for just Google analytics access
I’m cheap

I agree the price is too steep just for google analytics. As access to "stats" is one of the features of the plan you're already paying for, perhaps GS would be open to adding the javascript to the site for you, without opening up all of the customization options. Basically, the point of my post is that this feature has already been implemented. However, as you've pointed out, it's rolled into a package that's probably too expensive for smaller operations. -
I agree also. Just adding a GA tag should be available at the lower end subscription tiers. -
The ability to add GA to a "Customize" plan isn't really a feature that was implemented, it's a side effect of the customizability/templates.
GA tracking as a feature would be a field in the GS control panel to enter your GA tracker id. GS would then auto-magically insert the tracking code.
The ability to track through GA would go a long way to prove the viability of the higher-tier plans. If I can't demonstrate that our users are using GS the way we want, then I can't get approval to buy Customize. :) -
Inappropriate? This feature should be a "no brainer"!
