Tab Key Behavior Co-Opted by Dual Panes
The tab key functionality is being taken over by the dual pane feature. It used to advance focus to the next column. Could you return the old behavior at least if there are no dual panes?

Inappropriate?Yes you are right, this must be fixed. I'll also add OPT+TAB in dual mode so you can get to original TAB functionality if you know the trick.
Or maybe do it other way? not sure. Switching panels in dual mode should be very straightforward keyboard shortcut...
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?I'd say do it the other way, with option-tab to switch panes. Hitting the tab key by itself is an important part of home-position keyboard navigation in column view.

Inappropriate?Any update on this?

Inappropriate?I have to push the new version 0.8 in a few days (hopefully tomorrow). You will get configure tweak for TF to use OPT+TAB for panel switching. So original TAB behavior will stay intact.

this solves the problem

Inappropriate? It seems like either works now regardless of the setting you choose, is that correct?

Inappropriate? No. It works for me as announced. When you check "Use OPT+TAB for panel switching" you get old TAB behavior back.
Make sure you are using v0.8 -
Inappropriate?I can't tell any difference in the functionality of hitting "tab" when I have the dual panes open with the setting set or not. Perhaps what this feature is intended for is unclear. I looked for some documentation as to what the expected new and old behaviors are supposed to be but I didn't find anything. Could you please describe both the old and new behaviors? Thanks!

PS, I am on 0.8
